Thank You for visiting Coots BBQ. We are one of the
last family owned small businesses. Coots BBQ was
formerly Coots Grocery. It started with WA Coots in
Civit Oklahoma and moved to Ravia and Reagan
Oklahoma. Then to old highway 9 ''now known as
Alameda'' East of Norman. And last Wa Coots moved to
77 highway just south of Moore. D. Coots ''My Dad''
opened his store in September of 1949. In 1981 I
became a partner with my dad in about 1982 we
installed our first rotisserie. We started with cooking
chicken, pork steaks, hot links and once in a while
ribs. A short time later I bought my Dad out, but
continued to operate as a small grocery store. But as
the Big supermarkets and supercenters came to this
area it soon became clear that if I were to survive I had
to do something. A friend and I built my first smoker
and soon BBQ took over.
